South Florida coach Jim Leavitt would also be good candidate.

I don't know much about Jim Leavitt.

About 120 views and 3 votes? Very Weak!

I, too, am surprised that more people didn't vote. Takes about 15 seconds to vote.

I voted but I'm really not that decided on a favorite. Bradley and Johnson have never been head coaches to my knowledge. Vandelinden, a premier linebacker
coach, was head coach at Maryland I think but he was canned. Schiano is still building his program at Rutgers and we haven't seen the end result. Ferentz
was supercoach till two years ago when he sort of tanked and started the Iowa boards rumbling.
I don't know much about Leavitt except that he turned South Florida into a real team. I saw him on a TV game once and he looked very up-tight, of course Joe does too. Whoever is the successor, we will have the luxury of being able to terminate if performance is not satisfactory, that will be something new. |

Yes, I think Vanderlinden was canned. However, he sure is a great LB coach.

Living ih Md., we found him to be an average head coach. Had superlative rep as an assistant prior to Md. and again now as an assistant. Some folks just do
not make good head coaches.

Fran Ganter, if he wants it. Loyal to PSU & Paterno for well over 30 years, knows the "system" and the U., was a great recruiter, probably the
only guy on the staff that can keep the staff intact. If anyone else is named head coach, expect mass defections within a couple of years.
